CHINA’S DEVELOPMENT VECTOR: UNIVERSITY FACULTY UNDERGO PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AS PART OF AN INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM

As part of an international training program for China studies experts from countries participating in the "Belt and Road Initiative", Ainur Isayeva, Director of the Economics and Law Institute, and Senior Lecturer Gulzat Utegenova attended a series of scientific and educational events.

The program brought together participants from Kazakhstan, China, Palestine, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Thailand, Turkey, Benin and Nigeria, providing them with an opportunity to exchange expertise and strengthen international academic cooperation.

The university representatives participated in a seminar titled "Evolution and methodology of China’s national development planning", where they gained comprehensive insights into the PRC’s strategic planning system, the formulation of five-year development plans, and their role in the country’s socio-economic progress.

Furthermore, the participants attended a lecture on "China’s experience in poverty alleviation and lessons learned". The session provided a detailed overview of the PRC’s state policies aimed at poverty reduction, rural development, improving public welfare, ensuring regional balance, and fostering sustainable socio-economic growth. Besides, the discussion covered China’s achievements in this field and the experience that has received international acclaim. 

The participants visited the Great Wall of China—one of the greatest historical and cultural monuments of human civilization and a UNESCO World Heritage site—to explore the rich history and cultural significance of the landmark as part of the program.
