Тhe delegation of Seoul National University of Science and Technology (Seoultech) has arrived in Kyzylorda
The delegation of Seoul National University of Science and Technology has arrived at Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University.
The collaboration between SeoulTech and Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University is important within the framework of the assignment given by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, K.-J. Tokayev, regarding the establishment of branches of leading foreign universities in Kazakhstan.
In order to promote bilateral cooperation in higher education between Korea and Kazakhstan, the Leading University Project for International Cooperation (LUPIC) has been developed in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at SeoulTech.
Representatives from SeoulTech were received today by the Deputy Akim of Kyzylorda Region, S.S. Kozhaniyazov. Within the framework of bilateral cooperation, the parties discussed the details of implementing the LUPIC project, which aims to establish a school of artificial intelligence and business incubation in Kyzylorda.
Professor Kim Jaesoo, the Director of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Director of the Kazakhstan Center for the LUPIC project, and Director of the Global Center for Quantum Artificial Intelligence Security at SeoulTech, along with Deputy Director Kim Sunggon of the Kazakhstan Center for the LUPIC project at SeoulTech, will be present from July 3rd to July 8th, 2023.
During their visit to the university, they will discuss academic matters related to student education, familiarize themselves with the facilities, and meet with the faculty members involved in training personnel in the field of information and communication technologies, and other topics.
Seoul National University of Science and Technology (SeoulTech), founded in 1910, is home to approximately 20,000 students.
According to the QS World University Rankings 2024, SeoulTech ranks among the top 1001-1200 universities worldwide. It also holds the 2nd position in South Korea and the 23rd position in Asia as a specialized university. In the QS World University Rankings by subject in 2021, SeoulTech ranked in the top 51-100 for petroleum engineering and in the 401-450 range for electrical engineering and electronic engineering.
SeoulTech offers education at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels. The university encompasses research institutes, the Seoul Technopark, which serves as a center for educational-industrial cooperation in the fields of new technology and information technology, and more.
The LUPIC project officially began on April 1, 2023, and is planned to run until 2030. The LUPIC program aims to strengthen international cooperation in education and information technology and contribute to the development of emerging countries through advanced educational practices and the enhancement of teaching potential.
As a result, the region will see the training of professionals in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity (CS), and computer science (CS).
