A foresight session on "Climate change" was held with the participation of foreign scientists

A foresight session was organized at the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University to discuss ways to solve environmental problems. The session was attended by teachers and students, foreign scientists.

Roberto Boltri, a UN volunteer in Central Asia, Adviser on Ecology and Socio-Economic Development, made a report on the topic "The ecological catastrophe of the Aral Sea – mistakes of the past and decisions of the future".

At the meeting, the adviser focused on the work done to preserve the Aral Sea.

- Several projects have been developed to preserve the Aral Sea, but it cannot be said that all of them were effective. A large dam was built, which paved the way to the small Aral Sea. In the future, it will be necessary to work on the expansion of this dam. In addition, hybridization of polluted soils with various plant species is carried out," said Roberto Boltri.

During the event, the guests got acquainted with the Water Management Museum named after Honored Hydraulic Engineer of the Republic of Kazakhstan M. Nalibayev, located at the Engineering and Technological Institute.

And at the foresight session "Climate change", climate change and environmental problems were widely covered. The event was attended by Doctors of Technical Sciences Abdurashid Altiyev, Obid Tursunov, Maria Radkevich, specially invited from the National Research University of the Republic of Uzbekistan "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers" on the basis of the program "Academic Mobility".

The University's Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations, Maynur Buribayeva, spoke about the lectures held within the framework of the Academic Mobility program.

- Currently, the university has created maximum conditions for students to study abroad. For this purpose, the programs "Academic mobility", "Double diploma" are conducted. This year, students will study in the People's Republic of China, the Republic of Uzbekistan, Poland, Turkey, and the Republic of South Korea. Visiting lectures by foreign professors of our country strengthens cooperation between the two countries in the field of education. It also provides an opportunity for scientists to exchange experiences, - said Maynur Abiltayevna.

It is worth noting that the foresight session is organized by the Department of "Electric Power Industry, Fundamentals of life safety and Ecology". At the end of the event, the teaching staff and young researchers presented new ideas and expressed their suggestions for the optimal solution of environmental problems.
