The total fund of the scientific library is about 2 million publications

In the country, October 24 – Librarian's Day is celebrated as a professional holiday. Today librarians make an invaluable contribution to the development of education, science, art and culture in order to become a civilized country.

At a briefing in the Regional Communications Service, the head of the scientific library of the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University Gulmira Satbayeva spoke about the activities of the library and about the work in a new direction.

- Scientific Library - is aimed at the educational and scientific processes of the university, improving the quality and effectiveness of information and library services. Most of the users of library services are university students, faculty and university staff. Every year we supplement educational programs with textbooks, periodicals and electronic resources so that they meet modern requirements. To date, the total fund of the library is 1,956,324 copies," Gulmira Alibaevna noted.

It is worth noting that the number of e-books is growing at the university. The University's Scientific Library has signed a 5-year contract with the AlemBook electronic library. Currently, students can read AlemBook electronic library books for free via the Internet at any time.

Today, work continues on the digitalization of the university's libraries. For this purpose, a high-speed Optima A2 scanner was purchased, an electronic version of the book in the amount of 465 copies was developed in the academic year.
