II Turkic Universiade: students became prize-winners

The II Universiade among student-athletes of the Organization of Turkic States is being held in Turkestan.

More than 500 young people from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkey are taking part in the Universiade. They compete with each other in chess, table tennis, volleyball, judo, futsal, Greco-Roman wrestling, freestyle wrestling.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced the holding of the Turkic Universiade in Kazakhstan at the summit of the Organization of Turkic States in 2022. The purpose of this Universiade is to promote comprehensive cooperation between the Turkic countries through sports competitions among students.

At the Universiade, students of the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University became prize-winners in judo. In the 57 kg weight category, Dina Mukhanbet took the second place, in the 63 kg weight category, Aktoty Zarip took the third place. Also, a graduate of the OP "Physical Culture and Sport" in 2023, Kaldybek Aigali took the III place.
