The new academic year is full of innovations

A solemn meeting dedicated to August 30 – Constitution Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan and September 1 – Knowledge Day was held at Korkyt ata Kyzylorda University. At the festive event, the Chairman of the Board-Rector Beibitkul Sarsemkhanovna noted that the fulfillment of the requirements of the Constitution is the basis for the development of the country and civil harmony in society. She also congratulated the teaching professors and students on the start of the new academic year.

"Last year, according to the rating of the British agency QS, Korkyt ata Kyzylorda University became one of the world's strongest universities for the first time. In addition, for the first time this year, we took a place in the Times Higher Education World University Ranking for the development of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Currently, more than 10,000 students study at the university in 113 educational programs, and more than 500 teaching staff work," Beibitkul Karimova said.

On behalf of the President, together with the Seoul National University of Science and Technology, the Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Informatics was opened, which received the first students in the new academic year. For the current academic year, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan has allocated 100 grants. Starting from the next academic year, the "double diploma" program is being implemented.

The number of students is growing every year. Over the past 3 years, the student body has grown by 33%. This year, 3205 students were accepted for the 2024-2025 academic year, of which 1315 received educational grants.

It should be noted that the problem of the dormitory has been completely solved in the new academic year. Currently, there are 7 dormitories with 1,460 beds. In addition, a dining room with a 50-seat coworking center is under construction.

At the solemn event, a number of university employees who worked in the training of highly qualified specialists and contributed to the strategic development of the educational institution were noted.

The event was attended by Deputy Akim of Kyzylorda region Shakhmardan Baymanov, representatives of intellectuals, university veterans, teachers, graduates and students of the university. The solemn event ended with a festive concert of Tomiris folk dance ensemble, graduates and students of the university.
