The works of the professor are honoured

A round table on "Problems of water management and the role of science in solving them" was held at Korkyt ata Kyzylorda University, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Torekhan Karlikhanov.

The purpose of the event is to recognize and exalt the achievements of the academician in the field of science and education among the younger generation. In addition, the discussion of topical issues of water management and the definition of the role of the scientist in its solution.

Nargul Saktaganova, Director of the Department of Science at Korkyt ata Kyzylorda University, highlighted the professor's contribution to the field of education.  

The conference was attended by deputy of the regional maslikhat, Doctor of Technical Sciences Kylyshbai Bisenov, editor-in-chief of Korkyt ata Kyzylorda University, Candidate of Geographical Sciences Kali Omarov, professor of the educational program "Water Resources and Land Management" Serikbai Umirzakov, head of Aral-Syrdarya Basin Inspection Zeynulla Kaztoganov, Deputy Chairman of Board of the Scientific Research Institute of Rice Cultivation named after I.Zhakayeva, Candidate of Technical Sciences Zhanuzak Baymanov, Chief Researcher of the Department "Seed Production" of the Scientific Research Institute of Rice Cultivation named after I.Zhakayeva, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Academician of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of the RoK Kurmanbek Bakirovich, Chairman of Board of the Scientific Research Institute of Rice Cultivation named after I.Zhakayeva Sultanbek Taupbayev, veteran Shakhizat Torebayev, veteran hydraulic engineer Dauletiyar Bayalimov, Serikbai Sagimbayev, Bisenbai Zhienbayev, teachers, students and close relatives of the scientist.

More than 300 scientific papers, 4 author's certificates, several textbooks and books by Torehan Karlikhanuly have been published. 

In 2001, he was awarded the badge "Man of the Year" in the Kyzylorda region, "For services to the development of science in Kazakhstan", the medal "Veteran of Labor", and a Certificate of Honor from the Ministry of Education and Science of the RoK.

During the round table, the professor's works in the field of water management were popularized, and the importance of science was discussed.
