The seminar "APA 7 style for citation and reference" was held as part of the Month of Science

A scientific seminar "APA 7 style for citation and reference" was organized at Korkyt ata Kyzylorda University as part of the science month "Science will Save the World – III".

The seminar was attended by the teaching staff and undergraduates of the educational program "Foreign Languages and Translation". 

At the meeting, the requirements for compiling a list of references and citations according to version 7 of the APA (American Psychological Association), used in scientific research, were explained in detail.

At the event, the participants got acquainted with the basic requirements, such as the full name of the author, the year of publication, the title of the work and the publication data. The methods of correct citation of books, scientific articles, online resources and dissertations were also demonstrated using specific examples. The issues of compiling a list of references in alphabetical order and entering the DOI number were also raised.

The event discussed practical guidance on the use of modern scientific tools, not just a theoretical explanation. The participants were presented with ways to use the Zotero abstract manager and the Google Scholar scientific search engine. In particular, they were trained in the methods of automatic collection, storage and creation of bibliographic lists in the APA 7 style.

At the end of the meeting, the undergraduates asked their questions and exchanged views.
