Climate education: New opportunities and partnership potential

A trilateral round table on "Climate education: New opportunities and partnership potential" was held at Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University. 

The purpose of the meeting is to develop climate education, exchange new methods and strengthen partnership between schools and higher education institutions.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Sarah Marston, Director of the Institute of Education at the University of Reading, Associate Professor at the University of Reading, Head of the Sustainable Development Program Dr. JoAnna Reed Johnson, Associate Professor at Korkyt ata Kyzylorda University, Candidate of Economic Sciences Kamar Beketova, Head of the International Relations Department Gulnazia Almakhanova and Chairman of the Council of Mothers at the regional APK, deputy of the city Maslikhat, Director of Lyceum school No. 10 named after I.Altynsarin, Candidate of Historical Sciences Aigul Musabayeva, lecturers and teachers of the schools. 

During the event, issues of international exchange of experience, the development of joint projects between schools and universities, the exchange of teachers and students, and joint research were discussed.

The initiatives put forward within the framework of the round table were aimed at improving climate education and the formation of environmental awareness. The participants noted the need for a joint response to global environmental problems by deepening partnership in the field of education. Obviously, such meetings will be an important step in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, paving the way for an international exchange of experience.
