Aidos Sultangali was awarded the Korkyt Ata Gold Medal

Beibitkul Karimova, Chair of the Board and Rector of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University, held a reception for university graduate Aidos Sultangali, who became world champion in Greco-Roman wrestling.

Aidos Sultangali studied at Korkyt Ata University from 2014 to 2018, majoring in Physical Education and Sports. During his student years, he distinguished himself with his high athletic achievements, perseverance, and exemplary character.

During the meeting, Rector Beibitkul Karimova congratulated the champion on his historic victory and presented him with the university's highest award, the Korkyt Ata Gold Medal.

«Due to your victory, we have elevated the honor of Kazakh sports and brought fame to our country throughout the world. This is the result of hard work and dedication to your activity. We will always be proud of you and graduates like you», said the head of the university.

We remind you, that at the recent World Championships in Zagreb, Croatia, Aidos Sultangali became the winner in the weight category up to 60 kg, leaving his opponents no chance. 

This is the first gold medal in Greco-Roman wrestling for Kazakhstani athletes since 1999. Aidos Sultangali previously won bronze medals at the 2018 and 2022 World Championships. This year's victory is the result of his determination and hard work.
