Student event aimed at promoting decency

A competition on the theme «Law and Order: Fostering an Anti-Corruption Culture – The Foundation of a Sustainable Society» was held at the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda university among students of the «Foreign Languages and Translation» and «Kazakh Language, Literature and Journalism» educational programs.

The objective of the competition was to promote preventive work to combat corruption in various spheres of society, provide legal information based on anti-corruption laws, develop knowledge and form politically aware individuals, and create conditions for students to express themselves freely, taking into account their opinions and views.

Students comprehensively discussed the negative impact of corruption on modern society and particularly emphasized the importance of knowledge and systematic actions in combating it.

The competition, held with the aim of fostering an anti-corruption culture among youth, was judged by: Mira Bibitova, Deputy Head of the Kyzylorda regional department of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service Affairs; Akzada Madalieva, Director of the Kyzylorda regional branch of the Academy of public administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Certified Auditor for ISO 37001 Anti-corruption management; Aida Sharipova, Deputy Head of the Personnel management department of the Kyzylorda regional police department, police captain; Alibek Zhappasbaev, compliance officer for anti-corruption; and Ganibek Otarbaev, senior lecturer of the «Jurisprudence» educational program, candidate of legal sciences.

Seven teams participated in the competition, competing in four stages. Each team demonstrated their knowledge and ingenuity, being evaluated on a 5-point scale.

As a result, the first place was awarded to the team «Akikat» («Truth»), the second place to «Adal urpak» («Loyal Generation»), and the third place to the team «Adilet jarshylary» («Heralds of Justice»). The best teams were awarded special diplomas and letters of appreciation.
