Ibadulla Tautenov turns 70 years old

A solemn session of the academic council was held at the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the renowned scientist, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences and Associate Professor Ibadulla Tautenov.The event was attended by representatives of the intellectuals, heads of organizations, the university's professorial and teaching staff, colleagues, and the scientist's close ones.

Acting Rector Dana Abdasheva highlighted the jubilarian's life journey and his significant contributions to science, highly commending Ibadulla Tautenov's merits in the development of the region's agricultural science. On behalf of the university, the scientist was awarded the title of Honorary professor of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University and presented with an anniversary congratulatory addressee.

The professor began his career in 1977 at the «50th Anniversary of the Kazakh SSR» state farm as a senior agronomist in Terenozek district. Then he dedicated himself to science and, from 1979, worked at the Kazakh scientific research institute of rice. In 1983, he completed postgraduate studies at the D.N.Pryanishnikov all-union scientific research institute of fertilizers and agrochemistry in Moscow and defended his candidate dissertation.

The scientist's academic career is marked by successful works in the field of agricultural science and education. He held positions such as head of department, head of the testing center, and vice-rector for scientific work and international relations at the Kyzylorda Institute of agricultural engineers and at Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University.

In 2005, he defended his doctoral dissertation on «Mineral nutrition and productivity of rice in Aral Sea region of Kazakhstan». Besides, he made a direct contribution to the creation of five new crop varieties, the development of four new technologies, and the acquisition of over 15 patents and author's certificates.

30 Master's students and 6 PhDs were trained under the scientist's guidance. Currently, young researchers continue to conduct scientific projects under his supervision.

Ibadulla Tautenov's work has been highly valued by the state. In 2022, he was awarded the Order of «Qourmet» (Honor) by Decree of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Additionally, he is the recipient of Letters of Gratitude and Certificates of Honor from N. Nazarbayev, the Head of State and First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, regional governors, ministries, and various organizations.
Within the grant funding for 2024-2026, the scientist is leading a research project on the topic «Ecological testing of domestic and foreign grain sorghum varieties on saline soils of rice systems in Aral region of Kazakhstan».

At the conclusion of the ceremonial gathering, colleagues and students expressed their good wishes to the scientist and thanked him for his tireless work in the field of science and education.
