Member of the Council got acquainted with the work of Artificial Intelligence Institute

Markhabat Zhaimbetov, a Member of Council of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, familiarized himself with the work of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence at Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University.

Dana Abdrasheva, Acting Chairman of the Management Board – Rector of the university, presented an overview of the institution's potential and ongoing projects. The Member of Parliament, elected from Syrdarya region, visited the university's modern infrastructure, research centers, and a practical training base built on new technologies. Particularly, he learned about the activities of the institute, which focuses on artificial intelligence and digital technologies, and exchanged views on its development prospects.

The folk's representative emphasized the significant importance of the institute at both regional and national levels, noting that artificial intelligence is at the core of modern technological development, and therefore its mastery and advancement play a crucial role in enhancing the country's competitiveness.

During a meeting with the Council Member, students presented their projects developed using modern technologies and provided a comprehensive overview of their content and practical significance.

It is worth noting that in the IT sector, Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University and SeoulTech University are implementing two dual degree programs and four joint educational programs, as well as the international LUPIC project.

Furthermore, within the academic mobility program, during the 2025-2026 academic year six students are studying at SeoulTech University for one semester. Additionally, four students were sent to study at universities in Belgium for one semester in the 2025-2026 academic year.

Over the past two years, the university has been included in international university rankings such as QS, Times Higher Education, and GreenMetric World University Rankings.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the legislative body – the Member of Parliament and the faculty – exchanged views on the university's future development plans.
