THE SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE WAS DEDICATED TO ANALYZING THE SIGNIFICANCE OF AL-FARABI'S INTELLECTUAL HERITAGE

A roundtable discussion dedicated to popularizing the scientific heritage of the great scholar and philosopher Abu Nasr Al-Farabi was held at the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University. The event, themed "Spiritual bridge between East and West: Al-Farabi and modern science", was organized by the university's Philosophy and Socio-Humanitarian Disciplines section.

In her opening remarks, Ainur Isaeva, Director of the Economics and Law Institute, noted that the main goal of the event was a deep analysis of Al-Farabi's philosophical views and an introduction to his multifaceted creative legacy. Pirimbek Suleimenov, Director of the Al-Farabi Center at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, participated in the event online and delivered a report titled "Al-Farabi's heritage – a spiritual treasure of human civilization". In his presentation, he comprehensively analyzed the humanistic ideas in the scholar's works, issues of society and humanity, power and responsibility, paying special attention to the treatise "The virtuous city".

Furthermore, Zhanat Momynqulov, a senior lecturer at the Department of Political Science of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, delivered a report on "The Interrelation of Philosophy and Religion in Al-Farabi's Understanding," noting that the thinker viewed religion and philosophy as two different ways of conveying one truth. According to him, in Al-Farabi's teachings, religion is characterized as the language of the people, while philosophy is the language of truth.

Expert of the Abai.kz portal, philosopher-publicist Abdarshit Bakiruly, spoke about the continuity of ancient Greek philosophy and Al-Farabi's teachings at the roundtable. Besides, Professor Baimyrza Kozhamberliyev of the university analyzed the scholar's contribution to science, and Galiya Kulbasheva, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, presented a report on "Al-Farabi's concept of eudaimonism and its significance for understanding happiness in digital culture".

Students of the "Philology" specialty asked questions of interest and exchanged views with the speakers during the meeting.

This important meeting highlighted the significance of Al-Farabi's heritage for modern science and society, as well as contributed to the expansion of the spiritual and cognitive outlook of the younger generation.
