From the very beginning of its formation, the heads of departments of different years played a great job in creating and developing the material and technical base, creating creative conditions. On the basis of the order of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan in September 2016, Colonel Nurseit Uvaidayev was appointed to the post of head of the military department.
The faculty of the department includes 5 reserve lieutenant colonels (G.A. Zharmakhanov, A.Z. Kaliev, E.U. Absadykov, M.M. Suleimenov, S.H. Uksikbaev), 4 reserve majors (S.M. Kenzhegulov, A.A. Myrzy, A.A. Agulova, Bekenova M.D., Erdullaeva B.B.) and 1 retired major (B.E. Erdigalikov), 5 specialist employees (E.B. Eleukeeva, B.M. Tanatkanova, N.B. Bimanov, S.M. Kozhbanov, R.A. Tulepov)
 
Responsibilities:
Military training of citizens for military service under the reserve officers program and the reserve sergeants program is carried out on the basis of the formation of a military-trained reserve of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as higher professional education, which occupies the initial positions of officers of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan), and in military accounting specialties for the purpose of additional recruitment of sergeant positions.
Currently, as part of the material and technical base of the military department, there are audiences equipped with a RPG-7 grenade launcher, a Sagittarius simulator and other educational and visual, training equipment. In practice, three GAZ-66 vehicles are used, BMP-1, combat vehicle BMP-2 infantry and auxiliary means of its training, field simulators of portable anti-aircraft missile systems, models of small arms and other means of protection against weapons of mass destruction.
The training center (training ground) is fully used in conducting training camps and complex practical exercises.
Students of the University study at the military department once a week using the military day method for two years (sergeants - 1 year). Admission for military training at the department is carried out on the basis of competitive selection. During the selection, students' academic performance, psychological testing results, results of passing standards on the subject of physical training and fitness for military service are taken into account.
After the full completion of the military training course, students undergo a training camp. In the 2022-2023 academic year, the military department held the 22nd training camp at its training center. Since the creation of the military department, including 2023, 2,570 reserve officers and 408 reserve sergeants have been trained.
Military training with students has a positive impact on the situation inside the university, its life. Military training, carried out in parallel with the pedagogical process in institutes, contributes to the formation of patriotism, conscientiousness, civic qualities among student youth that can withstand any difficulties. Students who have undergone military training are distinguished by internal and external mobility, physical training, discipline.
 
Military training of students of the military department at the Korkyt Ata University is carried out under the training program for reserve officers in the following military accounting specialties:
- Combat use of combined arms units, units and formations;
- Planning and organization of territorial defense;
- Arrows;
- Combat use of units armed with portable short-range anti-aircraft missile systems;
- Organization of educational and ideological work in the Ground Forces.
 
Activity:
Military training of students is carried out in accordance with the order of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 24, 2017 No. 375 "On the approval of the Rules of military training under the programs of reserve officers and reserve sergeants."
In addition to the educational process, in order to practically improve theoretical knowledge, strengthen the qualifications and skills of students, as well as military-patriotic and physical education, a militarized competition is organized among the training platoons of the military department at each stage of training. Competitions are held to fulfill the standards of general military disciplines. High-placed platoons are awarded at the appropriate level.
 
Selection of students to study in the military department:
1. The selection committee selects students for training at the military department on a competitive basis in accordance with the admission plan approved by the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
2. The military department completes the acceptance of documents 10 working days before the start of the selection committee.
The military department provides information on the deadlines for submitting documents to the military department and the work of the selection committee to students by February 1 of the year.
Citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan no older than 24 years old are allowed to participate in the competition in the year of the competition - students studying in full-time universities.
The competition for the selection of students for study at the military department is carried out in four stages:
the first stage - is the passage of a medical examination in accordance with the Rules for conducting a military medical examination in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Regulation on military medical expert commissions approved by order of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan of December 21, 2020 No. 716;
the second stage - conducting vocational and psychological testing;
the third stage - is physical fitness testing;
the fourth stage - competitive selection carried out in accordance with the calculation of the rating score, which is compiled and approved by the head of the CSCI.
It is allowed to pass each stage of the competition once.
3. Documents for training under the reserve officer training program are accepted from students of the first (with 3 and 4 years of training) and the second (with 5 years of training) courses.
Documents for training under the reserve sergeant training program are accepted from students of the first, second (with 4-year training) and first, second, third (with 5-year training) courses.
4. The composition and terms of work of the selection committee are determined by the order of the First Deputy Minister of Defense - Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter - SMO - NUH of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan). The draft order is being developed by the structural unit of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which oversees military education. Proposals on the terms and composition of the selection committee are sent by military departments to the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan no later than April 1 of the year of reception.
5. After completing a medical examination, students who have completed military service are sent for military training out of competition free of charge (according to a state educational order).
6. The rules of work of the selection committee are determined in accordance with the academic calendar of the university.
7. A student who has expressed a desire to participate in the competition for training at the military department, from February 1 of the year of admission, submits an application in accordance with the Rules and a list of documents for participation in the competitive selection in accordance with the Rules.
8. To undergo a medical examination, students are given medical examination cards issued at the military department. Medical examination of students is carried out in local military administration bodies from February 1 of the year of admission. The results of the medical examination for participation in the competitive selection are submitted to the military department no later than 10 working days before the start of the work of the selection committee.
9. Students who have not passed the medical examination are not allowed to the competition.
10. Physical training of students is assessed based on the results of passing physical training standards in accordance with the Rules. Students who did not score 9 points in terms of the amount of three standards are considered not to have passed the stage of the competition.
11. Vocational and psychological testing of students is carried out in computer classes and includes testing of the level of will, stress resistance, critical and logical thinking.
12. Meetings of the selection committee are held in accordance with the work plan approved by the chairman of the selection committee, and are accompanied by the execution of a protocol in accordance with the Rules with the adoption of one of the decisions: "send for military training," "recommend for training on a paid basis," "refuse."
13. The decision is made by a simple majority of votes. If the votes are equal, the vote of the chairman of the selection committee is decisive.
14. For training on a free basis, students in the ranking from the first number to the number corresponding to the number of allocated places according to the admission plan are sent to the military department.
15. A student who does not agree with the results of the stages of the competition submits a written application (in any form) to the chairman of the selection committee on the same day.
16. The results of the competition are posted at the information stand of the military department the day after the completion of the work of the selection committee.
 
In accordance with the charter of the non-profit joint-stock company "Kyzylorda University named after Korkyt Ata":
Students can be expelled on the following grounds:
- At discretion;
- In connection with death;
- In connection with the transfer to another educational organization to continue training;
- Obtaining an unsatisfactory mark at the final state certification, as well as for academic failure;
- For violation of the Corporate Code of Ethics, the Charter and internal regulations;
- If the court sentence comes into force, in which the student is sentenced to imprisonment or other punishment that excludes the possibility of continuing training;
- For violation of the conditions stipulated by the training contract;
- Due to not leaving academic leave;
- On other grounds provided for by the current legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
