The student of Korkyt ata University in Korea: interview with Duisen Nuraim

According to Duisen Nuraim, her education at Kangnam University made a great impression on her. Studying in Korea under the program of external academic mobility as a 2nd year student of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University broadened her horizons and opened the way to acquaintance with new cultures. Since her specialty is “Korean-English Cultural Content,” studying in such an environment helps her to understand her field more deeply.
Nuraim studies in her group together with Chinese and Japanese students. In the learning process, students from each country represent their culture. This is one of the distinctive features of a multinational environment.
According to Nuraim, thanks to cultural exchange, students better understand each other's traditions and history and strengthen friendship. In turn, in order to familiarize foreign friends with Kazakh culture, she got into the habit of teaching them Kazakh words and giving them small gifts reflecting national characteristics and traditions.

     

The high quality of education in Korea is especially noticeable. "The university provides students with many opportunities to choose subjects at their discretion, get to know local students to learn Korean, and take part in various events. In addition, the university organizes concerts and cultural events on a monthly basis, creates conditions for recreation and education of students."
The peculiarity of the educational process in Korea is that each lesson is interesting and full of motivation. "Teachers listen to students' personal opinions and focus on group work. As students from different countries work together on each project, their intercultural communication skills develop." According to Nuraim, this is an important experience for a future professional career.
During the interview, she noted the availability of university resources. "The library and laboratories are open on a round-the-clock basis, which allows students to improve their knowledge at any time. In addition, student cafes and lounges are equipped at a high level, which contributes to effective student learning while maintaining a balance between study and leisure."
Nuraim also noted the close connection of the educational process with modern technologies. "With the help of online platforms, every student can easily keep track of all study materials, schedules, assignments and grades. The opportunity to communicate with professors on the Internet also helps to improve the quality of education, which is especially convenient when questions arise outside the classroom," Nuraim shared her thoughts.
In general, the educational experience gained in Korea has a positive impact on Nuraim's personal and professional development, helping her to determine her future goals.
