Beibitkul Karimova, Rector of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda university, held a reporting meeting dedicated to the annual results of the university's work and upcoming tasks

As part of the implementation of the instruction of the Head of State K.K. Tokayev on the implementation of digital transformation, the university's management has begun a full automation process, acquired the Microsoft 365 platform, and transferred management processes to electronic format.

The Minister of Higher Education and Science of RK, Sayasat Nurbek, set the task of developing external academic mobility for students. In this regard, over the past two academic years, 202 students have studied at foreign universities (Poland, Belgium, Uzbekistan, South Korea, China, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan). In 2024, the university joined the ORKHUN program of the Union of Turkish Universities.

The university strives for maximum participation of faculty in grant and international projects, as well as projects commissioned by government agencies and companies.

Compared to 2021, the number of implemented projects has increased threefold (11 projects in 2021, 32 projects in 2025).

Compared to 2021, the volume of income from scientific activities in 2025 increased by 7.7 times (for example, in 2021, the total income was 107.513 million tenge, and in 2025 it was 829.7 million tenge).

Since 2021, as part of supporting young scientists, the university has been allocating internal grants annually: in 2021 – for a total of 10 million tenge, in 2024 – 20 million tenge, and in 2025 – 30 million tenge.

The university has 22 youth organizations and 11 sports sections. In the 2024–2025 academic year, 80 people became winners of republican subject Olympiads, 32 people became winners of the Student Games, and 26 people received scholarships from the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The total number of students in the 2024-2025 academic year exceeds 11.7 thousand people. More than 40% of this contingent are holders of state educational grants. Young people from Almaty, West Kazakhstan, Ulytau, Mangystau, Zhetysu, Turkestan regions, as well as the cities of Aktobe, Atyrau, Pavlodar, and Karaganda, also study at the main educational center of the Aral Sea region. All students arriving from other regions are provided with dormitories.

Beibitkul Sarsemkhanovna noted that the university's status in the international educational space has significantly strengthened, and the level of competition has increased. To enhance the university's recognition and its competitiveness on the global stage, the university's leadership participates annually in global university rankings.

In 2023, the university made its debut in the QS WUR ranking, securing a position in the 1201-1400 range. In 2025, the university received a «4 Stars» rating, demonstrating strong performance in areas such as Teaching, Employability, Academic Development, Infrastructure, Employment Outcomes, Internationalization, Environmental Impact, and Inclusivity. Furthermore, in the regional QS Asia University Rankings – 2025, our university ranked within the TOP 541-560 among leading Asian higher education institutions. In the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2025, the university entered the TOP 1401-1450 for the first time.

In the UI GreenMetric ranking, the university is placed at 1160th.

In 2024, the university presented its impact on Sustainable Development Goals for the first time in the Times Higher Education Global University Impact Rankings-2025, securing a position of 1501+, and maintained this position in 2025. According to the national ranking, the university ranked 7th among the most in-demand universities according to NAAR, entering the overall TOP 10 Kazakhstani universities.

Twenty-nine of the university's educational programs were ranked among the top three in Kazakhstan.

Six educational programs were included in the TOP 10 of the university program rankings in Kazakhstan, conducted by the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs «Atameken».

Additionally, at the reporting meeting, Beibitkul Karimova specifically addressed the target objectives for the 2025-2026 academic year. The university's Rector stated that new initiatives will be implemented in the future to strengthen the country's human capital and scientific-technological potential. At the end of the meeting, attendees had the opportunity to ask questions of interest and discuss proposals. The reporting meeting was broadcast live via the «Zoom» platform.
