Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University announces a competition for two (2) vacant full-time positions of Junior Research Fellow at the “Archaeology and Ethnography” Research Center

Required Documents for Participation:

Applicants must submit the following documents:

1)  An application for participation in the competition;

2)  A copy of the applicant’s identity document;

3)  The applicant’s CV (service record) with a 3x4 cm color photograph;

4)  Copies of educational diplomas and their transcripts (originals must be provided for verification);

5)  A copy of a document confirming employment history, certified by the HR department at the current or last place of employment;

6)  A presentation of: an educational program project (for vacant teaching positions), or a research project (for vacant research positions) (in electronic format, no more than 7 slides), and an online class/session for teaching staff positions with an electronic version attached on digital media;

7)  A list of scientific publications and inventions (if any);

8)  Form No. 075/u — “Medical Certificate (Medical Professional Advisory Conclusion)” approved by Order № RK DSM-175/2020 of the Acting Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated October 30, 2020 (registered with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan on November 4, 2020, №21579);

9)  A certificate issued by the Committee on Legal Statistics and Special Records of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan confirming the presence or absence of a criminal record.

Submission of an incomplete set of documents in accordance with the above list shall constitute grounds for refusal to accept the application in any form.

The applicant has the right to submit additional information related to their education and professional qualifications (list of scientific publications, letters of recommendation from previous employers), as well as documents confirming work experience and professional competence.

Job Responsibilities and Knowledge Requirements:

The Junior Research Fellow must be aware: The objectives and tasks of ongoing research and development projects; Domestic and international research information relevant to the field; Modern methods and tools for planning and organizing research and development; Participation in archaeological and ethnographic expeditions; Collection of ethnographic data and archaeological samples for natural science analysis; Systematization and processing of information, including the use of computer technologies; Fundamentals of legislation on science; Labor legislation, internal labor regulations; Occupational health and safety requirements, industrial sanitation, and fire safety regulations.

Qualification Requirements:

Higher (or postgraduate) education in the relevant field of training and at least three (3) years of professional experience.

Candidates holding an academic degree, having completed doctoral studies and internships, may apply without the requirement of work experience.

As an exception, graduates (Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees) who obtained professional experience during their studies may be appointed to the position of Junior Research Fellow upon recommendation of university (faculty) councils.

Deadline for submission of documents: March 4, 2026, until 5:00 PM. The date and venue of the competition will be announced additionally.
