The history of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence
In 2023, as part of the LUPIC (Leading University Project for International Cooperation), a memorandum of cooperation was signed between Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University and Seoul National University of Science and Technology (SeoulTech) with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea and the National Research Foundation. The goal of the project was to create a school of artificial intelligence and IT.
In 2023, the Institute of Artificial Intelligence was established within Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University. Its educational programs are aimed at training specialists in digital technologies, artificial intelligence, programming, cybersecurity, and data analysis.
Starting in the 2024–2025 academic year, joint educational programs were implemented in collaboration with SeoulTech, for which 100 state grants were allocated. 25 students were accepted into four educational programs (Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Programming and Software Development, and Cybersecurity).
Starting in the 2025–2026 academic year, dual-degree educational programs in a 2+2 format (two years at Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University and two years at SeoulTech) will be launched. 40 grants are available for these programs. Two educational programs have been included in the registry: Data Management and AI Architect.
The institute actively develops research in the fields of artificial intelligence, digital platforms, and data analysis. Key areas include:
- development of intelligent agents and automated assistants for education, management, and business;
- implementation of machine learning algorithms to improve the efficiency of public and private institutions;
- creation of digital platforms with AI elements for educational institutions and public administration;
- use of big data to analyze socioeconomic processes and develop predictive models for regional development.
To support its educational and scientific objectives, the institute has modern infrastructure, including computing systems, specialized software, and laboratories. A Business Incubation Center has been established to support student startups. SeoulTech professors give lectures in Kyzylorda and participate in joint research projects.
he mission of the educational program
To train competitive and socially responsible specialists capable of developing the economy of the region and the country through artificial intelligence technologies.
